In the late morning, we took the Elizabeth River Ferry across from our marina in Portsmouth to the Waterside landing in Norfolk - $2 each. We got there with a little time to kill wandering, then made our way to a good spot on the waterfront to watch the Parade of Ships at noon that started off Harborfest. Pretty impressive.

We then went for a walk following the Cannonball Trail down the waterfront and through some nice Norfolk neighborhoods. Norfolk is much cleaner, nicer, and a lot less sketchy than Portsmouth. At least the parts we were in.

We had a great lunch at the Freemason Abbey restaurant, then headed back to the Harborfest area to see the first musical act, Pressing Strings from Annapolis. We watched some of their show, then took the ferry back to Portsmouth to relax.

Kati was thinking of coming back for the 8:00 show with Robert Randolph (!!) but we ended up staying put on the boat.

Evening ended with a great, but short, drone light show over the river.
