We stayed another day here on Grand Lake. After a short morning walk, we did a thorough boat cleaning. Harry scrubbed the decks and cockpit, I did the inside floors and settees. This was really needed, the last thorough one was at Point Judith Marina in Rhode Island. A lot of sand, dirt, and dog hair had accumulated since then!

Our boat neighbors, Minna and David on their Mirage 35, slowed on their way out and said they were going to the "sand bar". We followed in the early afternoon.

A sand bar extends way out into the middle of the lake just north of Douglas Harbor. We anchored next to it, locked Bruce into the boat, then swam over to their boat anchored just on the other side of the bar. You can stand up in water up to your knees in the middle of the lake. It was great swimming and conversation.

A really wonderful summer afternoon.

We put the spinnaker up to sail back to Douglas Harbor and picked up the same mooring ball we had last night.

This is the "turnaround point". Tomorrow we head toward home. The travel line will change from blue to green, if I can get that to work.
