We stayed in this harbor because the forecast called for rain all night and all day and big winds and waves. So we rearranged our Thursday and Friday plans accordingly. Well, it didn't rain until mid-afternoon. But we stayed anyway.

Nice walk into the center of Cape Porpoise, about .7 miles from the wharf. Nice little grocery store for fruit and dog food. Bakery & sandwich shop across the street for yummy triple berry muffins (blueberry, cranberry, raspberry) for breakfast.

Came back to the boat for a while, then took an early afternoon dinghy ride over to the Goat Island lighthouse. The lighthouse is open the to public, though it is still a working lighthouse, but only accessible by small boat. So we had it to ourselves since the rainy weather meant no kayak tours coming out. Even the keepers were out. The lighthouse was open with a sign to come right in, so we climbed up! How cool. A really neat fog bell tower too. And, Kati took pics of the cut we came thru yesterday with big winds, waves, currents, and tide.

It was a nice "down" day for the rest of the afternoon once the rain started.
